Hope everyone is having a good start to their Monday!! I have a card to share with you that I made last night at the request of my Husband!! :-) Well... we all know when the Spouse actually requests you to go to your craft room... it's a no brainer!! He has a very sweet eldery customer at his work that is turning 89 today. She is the nicest Lady. She brings my Hubby fine confectioners chocolates and homemade banana bread and usually tops it off with some homemade crocheted washcloths for ME!! I seriously think I have over 150 of these. (Anyone need some?) She really enjoys making them. Her favorite color is also BLUE. She wears everything blue on a daily basis. So with that in mind... here is my card that I made for her.
I used the sketch from Karen over at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 106 , I am also entering it at Paper Pals Art Challenge 82 - Use Scallops... and finally I am entering this at Creative Cutter Room. Patriotic theme, 3d item, Banner/Flag, Button and Metal Embellishment.
Enjoy! Thanks so much for all of your nice comments. I read each and every one!!
Have a good day!!

Flower Girl/Ring Bearer - 12 x 12 Double Scrap Layout
Wow... 2nd post for today!! When it's been snowing outside all day and the kids are still getting over sicknesses... we have been playing pictionary, building lego cities... and of course some more scrappy time for me. :-) (And laundry... oh fun.)
Our kiddos were delighted to be The Flower girl and Ring Bearer at our Niece's wedding in August of 2009. They were 6 and 3 at the time and were oh so cute and did oh so PERFECT. Of course as their Parents... we are a little biased.
I am entering this layout at the Lasting Memories Challenge # 26 where you had to "Reduce, reuse and recycle." Well... I am REDUCING my scrap stash by using an old, retired Stampin' Up Simply Scrappin' kit... and RECYCLING our old Christmas Family photo in the bottom left picture. There is only about an hour left to enter the challenge... but check them out during this coming week for their next challenge. I'm just happy to get my photos on paper and in books.
Thanks so much for looking!! Enjoy!!
Supplies Used:
Cardstock: SU Close to Cocoa (Background Paper), Early Espresso (Family pic)
Ink: Stampin' Up Craft White, Basic Brown SU Marker
Other: Stampin' Up Simply Scrapin' Kit called "Love Stories."
Stamps: Quirky Alphabet (Retired Stampin' Up 2005)

I LOVE YOU to the Moon - 12 x 12 layout
It's not very often that my Husband steps in behind the camera. But he did this time... and captured one of my favorite pictures to date of ME with our Kiddos!!! So of course I was excited to do something with it. We had a mini break off from school last week, and went to explore the Pacific Science Ctr. Fun place for little kids and BIG kids.
Once in a while a creative Title will pop into my head. One of our kid's books, "Guess how much I love you?", ends with the Momma bunny puting her little guy to bed saying "I love you to the Moon and back." The kids always remember this, so naturally I had to use!!
I am entering this into 2 Challenges:
Scrappy Saturdays with the Bug 2 with Melissa and Amanda - make "Something Lovey."
For all you avid SCRAPPERs... this is a layout only challenge. No cards.
Paper Playtime Ch 39 with Janis & her DT - Technology Theme
This is a submit any type paper project.
Go check them out! There is a little time still left.
Supplies used:
Cardstock - Stampin' Up Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Early Espresso, Whisper white, Playdate DSP
Embellishments - Cricut George & Basic Shapes & Boys will be Boys
Stampin' Up Playdate quick accents,
Ink - Basic Brown SU marker & white gel pen
Other - SU Large & Small Oval punch, corner punch, ticket punch, random chipboard letters "To The"

Hiking Double Page Layout - Inkspirations Colour Challenge 58
Good Evening all!! We are having quite the snow storm here... so I have been digging out summer pictures to scrap. I can at least pretend it's warmer!! :-) My biggest challenge is coming up with just the right color combo for a scrap layout. In paroozing blogs, I stumbled upon the Inkspirations challenge blog. PERFECT! Their challenge was to create a project using the colors Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Tangerine Tango and Whisper white. I GOOFED. (darn it) I used Baja Breeze instead of Marina Mist. ( This is for all of you that have the SU colors memorized as do I.) :-)
Either way these remind me of Earthy Hiking colors. So here is what I came up with.
Enjoy! Thanks for looking!!

Candy Paint Tin for the Hubby
Hi all!! Sort of been MIA this last week. I am getting back in the swing of things again. I had a Birthday over the weekend and getting kid's V-day cards put together means I have neglected the craft area. Although... I did manage to decorate a Clear Paint Tin filled with most things Chocolate for my Husband for part of his Valentine's present. He has a sweet tooth like no other. My Daughter helped me with this project. Pretty simple!! I am thinking ahead for Hostess or Shower type gifts. These Paint Cans come in all kinds of sizes.
Also... if you want to check out some GREAT inspiration and win some prizes... go over to Gaby's blog at Gabycreates.com.. where she is having a "Linking Party" for her Blogiversary.
You need to post your favorite Valentine's project and follow any 6 of the linking participants. Have fun! Make some new friends! Mention that I sent you.
My Paint Can is not my favorite... but the ONLY thing I did for V-day.
Recipe:
Large Clear Craft Paint Tin - found at any craft store
Patterned Paper from Reminisce "Set the Table" collection
Random chipboard letters on punched circles. Extra Ribbon (don't know brand)
Candy Jar Embellishments - from Martha Stewart Crafts
Real Red and Green Galore cardstock from Stampin' Up
