Happy "50th" masculine B-Day card

Hello friends!!  It's not every day or even every month for that matter, that I make a masculine card.  They challenge me to no end.  I like frills and fluff... so had to put my thinking cap on for this one.
My Mom needed a Poker/Casino type themed card for a friend that is turning the big 50!  I think I pretty much love how this turned out.  These ideas come to me in my sleep.  Go figure.  I could be thinking of worse things.  :)

So... most of the products used here are from Stampin' Up.  Cardstock, border punch, circle punch, "rectangle" hand held punch, white gel pen, real red marker and the Birthday sentiment.
The "50" are stickers from my stash and the card image is from google images.  :)  Gotta love the internet and a printer.  I did make that Poker Chip with my own 2 hands.  White and Red circle punch overlapped on each other with thin white gel pen lines in the center and the thicker white dashes are and OLD retired hand held punch from SU.

I used the MOJO Monday 348 sketch for my inspiration.
It's a contest this week as well.  :)

And I would also like to enter my card into "Splendiferous Creations" Blogger challenge.
The challenge is to make a "MASCULINE" card.
Yep... my challenge alright.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll be seeing you all a little more often these days, my crafty to do list is quite large.
Happy day to all of you.

DDC #66 "Fancy Fold Cards" - Happy Birthday Gift Card Holder

Happiest of Mondays to all of you!  I have a fun yet SIMPLE card to share with you. It's a fun Gift Card holder.
Our newest challenge over at Digi Darla's is to make a FANCY FOLD card or some sort of SHAPE card.
Just for playing along, you have a chance to win 5 FREE images and for using a Digi Darla image, you have a chance to win and additional 3 images.

Here's mine using Digi Darla image "Balloons and Bow"

And here it is all opened up...

I found the tutorial from the Spring 2013 issue of Card Maker magazine.

1.  Cut a 4 1/4" x 11 inch piece of cardstock.
2.  With paper horizontal on a scoring board (I just used my cutter tool)... start at left edge and score at 3, 4 1/4, 5 1/2, and 8 1/2 inch marks.
3.  Cut card stock at the 4 1/4" score line into 2 pieces.
4.  Fold along all score lines.
5.  To form the gift card pocket, adhere the 1 1/4" flaps together applying adhesive  at short edges and along scored line only.
6.  Sizes of patterned paper on inside of card are 2 3/4", two at 1 1/4" x 4 inches, one 3 x 4", and one 2 1/2 x 4".  Adhere all.
7.  The 2 pieces of patterned paper on the outside as it is all folded together is 2 3/4" and 2 1/4" x 4 inches.
8.  To form band wrapped around, cut a 3/4 x 7 1/2" piece of paper.  Score at 2 1/4" and 5 1/2" marks.  Fold on score lines, overlap ends and adhere together to form a band.
9.  Slide band over folded card and adhere anything you want to band using foam adhesive.

I am also entering my card over at colourQ 192.

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope to back a bit more often this week.  Have lots of cards needed for many celebrations... and some scrapping of my kiddos and their many activities.  :)
Stay tuned!!

DDC 59 - Earth Day - Use at least 1 recycled item

It's time for another fun challenge over at Digi Darla's.
In honor of Earth Day, this week's challenge is all about showing our GREEN and we want to see at least
1 recycled item used on your project.
It can be as simple as scraps.

I am dedicating this post to our lovely daughter that turned the big double digits yesterday.  Ugh!  Time flies!
In honor of her B-day... I made this 8 x 8 mini layout/card for her that highlighted bits and pieces of her last 10 years.  She loved it!
My recycled items used are... punched out circles from scraps, ribbon that was tied around a notepad cube and then the 10 glorious photos that I scanned into the computer and then up-cycled into this photo collage.

Using DD Image "Birthday Cake 2"

I hope you all have a chance to join us this week.  You have a chance to win 5 Digi Images and an additional 3 if you use a Digi Darla image.
Easy Stuff.
Thanks for stopping by to take a peak.

Pals Paper Arts Sketch # 135 - "Celebrate" card

Another quick post for you today.  I made this birthday card for my Mom
following the current PPA 135 sketch challenge.  It's fun to join challenges that I always see, but don't always have the time.  Always love their challenges.
When I think of my Mom (along with my Dad)... I think of "Celebrating the Simple things."  They are TRUE examples of this.  They do what they want to do when they want to do it, with whom they want and basically enjoy each day as it happens.  I have learned a lot from them.  Life is what matters most.  It's too short to sweat the small stuff.

Soo... here is my card...

and their sketch...

I know this little guy looks not very happy stuck in this wine glass... but this is for my Sister-in-Law that loves her cat and loves her wine... so it was perfect for her.  I tried to spin it off as a more of a HAPPY card.  I think it will work.
I am entering this over at Digi Darla's Ch # 7 - All About Flowers that just started!!  I originally made this for their "All about buttons" challenge... but missed the entry time.  So No... I have flowers on here as well.  :-)  My Digi Image is from the Digi Darla's store that you can find here... "Cat in Wine Glass".  Lots of fun stuff over there... you have 2 weeks to play along.

I also followed the latest sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #29.  I flipped it to the vertical position for my card.  Their challenge ends today... so you do have a few hours if you love this sketch and want to play along!!

Happiest Birthday Wishes!! (Card)

Hello!  I have a fun card to share with you that I got to make at the request of my Hubby.  Always love those requests.  It's my excuse to go be creative.  :-)  Alot of the these items used on my card I just received a few days ago from Stampin' Up.  So I need to come back with the details of the supplies.  But until then... enjoy my card.  I am entering is a couple of challenges as well.

I used this great sketch from the sweetest thing - sweet Sunday sketch 153 as my inspiration beginning.  Love Karen's sketches and don't get to play as often as I'd like!!

And I also found a new challenge blog to me.. Ribbon Carousel Challenge # 42  Anything Goes... but you need to show something that comes on a Spool for their challenges.  I have the chocolate chip ribbon and the Baker's Twine in my button.

Enjoy!!  All Supplies are from Stampin' Up except the 2 random lavendar buttons in the corner.  They are all mostly newer items.  Will back with the details.

Paper Lovin' Gals Ch. # 16 - "SPRING colors" (Happy Birthday Card)

As I am typing this... I am realizing that January is almost over.  So that means... just a few more months until we get to enjoy some SPRING in our step in the good ol' outdoors!!  Well here is another "Springy, Flowery with Butterflies" inspirational photo challenge for you to try at Paper Lovin' Gals!!

Here is what I came up with...
As much as I love the flowers and the butterflies... I was clearly inspired by the darker pink, lighter pink and green for the colors for my card.  And the fact that I NEEDED a birthday card.  Actually, I need A lot of B-day cards.  New year... new birthdays.  :-)
I also need to give some credit to Mary - Stamper Camper's Corner for the fun layout.  I like how the piece with the sentiment and image comes off the edge of the card a bit.

I hope you can find some time to join us this week for PLG #16!!  You have until Tuesday, January 31st @ 8pm to link up!  Please check out the other Design Team member's creations.  Some fun things!!
