Merry Christmas Snowman!! DDC # 41

Hello and Good morning!!  Gosh December 10th already.  So much to still do.. both on my shopping list and FUN stuff with the fam.  Hope everyone is gliding right through these Holidays!!

I am here to bring you the newest challenge over at Digi Darla's.
The theme is SNOW FUN with some BLING!!

Here is my "Snowman with a Tree" Digi Darla image that I used.  As you can see, my BLING is the Snowman's buttons and the center of the ribbon bow at the top.  For some reason my bling looks orange in this photo, but it really is supposed to be red.  All of my products are from Stampin' Up except the image from Digi Darla.  She's got some cute ones!  Go check out when you can.

A couple other challenges that inspired me for my card...

It's Snowing Men - Show them your Snowmen

The Tree Farm!! LMCB # 118

Hi everyone!!  So we had our first dusting of snow over the weekend.  We saw it just enough to say it was there and then within an hour it was back to rain. The kids are excited at the possibility of more this month.  How about you??

On that note... we have a new challenge over at Lasting Memories.

This weeks challenge is
"Anything But Snow"
Make a layout that does not show a hint of snow or wintery weather.

These are photos from our last year's trip to the U-Cut Tree farm for our tree. It was overcast and drizzly.  No snow to be seen!!  :)  I am showcasing a Digital image from our sponsor, Cedar Chest Designs this week called "Holiday Reindeer."

I couldn't pass up the chance to highlight my daughter's Reindeer Antlers that she wears almost every day of December until Christmas.  Such a festive kid we have.

One lucky winner will win a $10 gift certificate to the Cedar Chest Designs store.

Some closeups...
 Here is cute "Holiday Reindeer"

And this shows better my use of 4 patterned papers for the Frosted Designs challenge.

A few other challenges that inspired me with my layout...

First time joining these Ladies.  :)

Use CHRISTMAS COLORS

For their 12 days of Christmas on Day 4 was to use 4 different patterned papers.

Thanks so much for visiting today!!  Hope you found some inspiration to scrap a NO SNOW layout for us to see at Lasting Memories.

FB Thankful Journal 12x12 Page - LMCB # 116 "Naked Layouts"

Hi everyone!  Sooo... did any part of my Post Title get your attention??  :)  Hee Hee.  Well this week at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges it's all about making a "NAKED" layout.
That means... no PHOTOS.  It can be a Story Page, a special page for your Kiddo's with school work etc., Newspaper clippings, All of your concert ticket stubs, or simple a page that will be intended for photos, but leave it blank.
Well, I really didn't know what I was going to do, then it HIT me.  On November 1st, I decided to keep a "Thankful Journal" on my Facebook page for all 22 days of November leading to Thanksgiving.  Well... I wanted to KEEP this somehow and VOILA!!
NAKED Layout in the making!!

As my DT Sister's can vouch... I am one that LOVES my photos... so this originally stumped me.  But so glad for this challenge, or I would not have took the time to do this.

Some Close-ups...

Would love to see what your mind can come up with!!  Let me be an inspiration for you... since I was honestly originally clueless.

I'm actually getting the nerve to create a "December Daily."  I've seen others and think what a fantastic way to keep track of the December happenings and Traditions.  If you have any tidbits on that project, would love to hear.  It's something I would do about every 5 years to see how things change or stay the same from year to year.

Come join us over at Lasting Memories this week!!
You have a chance to be Featured, part of the TOP 3 or possibly a Guest Designer for December.
Thanks for stopping by.

Let it Snow... "Snowmageddon 2012' and my WINNER from the DT lift off Challenge.

Happy Thanksgiving EVE everyone!! Yes... even all of my Canadian friends!  So thankful to know you... and you all know who you are!!  ;)
I'm here to finally bring you a layout I did for the latest challenge over at Lasting Memories!!

Use Rubber Stamps somewhere on your layout.  You know you all have them!!

My Stamped Title...

Different Angle...

I STAMPED my "Let it Snow" title with a stamp from Stampin' Up called "Big On Christmas."  I colored it in with SU pencils and then Blender Pens over that.

These are photos from January of this year.  It was our first BIG snow storm.  Here, they are only supposed to last 1 to 2 days... well this one kept going on for a total of 6 days.  I think we had 22 inches measured on our deck when all was said and done.  These photos are from the 1st and 2nd day.  After that, the kids kind of get tired of the cold, wet and muck (as I call it).  But definitely something to  remember!!

I hope you can find some time to join us for this EASY PEASY challenge.

I was also inspired by 3 additional challenges for my layout!!

This is my first time playing with these ladies!  Thanks for the "Push."

And been meaning to join these Gals for a while.  They were one of my first ever challenges.

And... don't go anywhere yet... I am announcing my WINNER from our DT Lift Off challenge.  All you had to do was comment!  And my winner is...
Please comment on this post with your email address, so I can get in touch with you.  :)

Woo Hoo!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Will see you soon!!

"Thoughts Of You Warm My Heart" - DDC # 32 Z-Fold Card

Hello everyone!!  So I am here to remind you about the FUN challenge going on over at
Digi Darla's this week!!  I first told you about this on Monday... but finally have my card to show you.
(I've been working behind the 8 ball lately.  :) )

 HOW DO YOU FOLD??

Show us fun and creative ways that you fold your cards or projects!!

I chose a pretty basic "Z-FOLD" for my card using a DIGI DARLA image called
"A Cup of Heart Chocolate"
Awww... doesn't that make you all warm and tingly inside??
I made this card for my Hubby just because!!  He RARELY checks out my blog, so I should be able to sneak it at him as a surprise. We are huge Hot Cocoa/Coffee drinkers, so this was perfect.

And all opened up...

Quick directions on how I folded this...
Just start out with a piece of card stock cut at 4 1/4" x 9 3/4".
Score it at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".
Then just alternate the folds and voila!!
Decorate until your heart is content!!

I was also very inspired by the challenge over at The Paper Players # 116 where the theme is "Cup of Joy."  Use a cup or cups!  Well, I hope they like mine... cuz I do.  :)

Thanks for looking and see you soon with another project/challenge!!
Happy Day!!

LMCB # 109 "Hometown" - The State Fair

Good Sunday Afternoon!!  I have a fun layout to share with you for the newest challenge over at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges.

"My Hometown"
is the theme of the challenge.
Scrap about anything that tells a little something about your hometown or where you grew up as a child.  This could be a memory, moment, annual event, school spirit,  simply the personality of where you live... so many different avenues for this one!!

This happens to be my current hometown.  I grew up about 45 minutes away.  So I guess you would say I stay close to the nest.  Every year we have a Annual State Fair that bombards our streets!  10 days of traffic jams, parades, concerts and lots of fun.

And here are some close-ups...

I was determined to use LOTS of photos.  I think I still have 30 more from the day.

I am also entering this into the latest challenge over at Just Add Ink # 10 where it's a color challenge to use BRIGHT colors!  Being that the fair photos are all over the place with different happenings... I loved the idea of using bright, bold rainbow colors.  Says happy and cheery to me!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  I hope you find some time to join Lasting Memories and show us a little about your Hometown.
Challenge closes Saturday, 10/13 at 6pm EST.
We are also looking for a Guest Designer for November!!  Be sure to put GDT after your name.

Master Hop List

Supplies:
Digi Darla digital Image - Colorful Sailboat (from September 2012 New Releases)
A - Muse Stamps - "Life's a Breeze" sentiment
Stampin' Up Products-  DSP Patterns pack - Daffodil Delight, Cardstock:  Tangerine Tango, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Twine in Island Indigo, Designer Button from Holly Berry Bouquet, 1" Circle punch, 1 1/2" Circle punch, Scallop Edge Border punch, Markers:  Real Red, Pool Party, Yoyo Yellow, Island Indigo.  Close to Cocoa & Brocade Blue colored pencils used with blender pen.
Creative Memories - Oval Cutting Template 3 7/8" x 3"

How I put this card together:
1.  This is your basic 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" size card. (Crumb Cake card stock)
2.  I cut the white background to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
3.  Before adhering the white base onto the Crumb Cake card, I cut two 1" x 5 3/8" strips of Island Indigo card stock.  The top one I used the 1" circle punch and made consecutive "half circle" punches to simulate waves.
4.  The bottom one I also used the 1" circle punch and again cut "half circle" punches, but lined them along the bottom to create a bigger scallop.
5.  I then cut a 1" piece of crumb cake card stock and and used the scallop border punch on each side.
6.  Before adhering that on top of the Island Indigo pieces, I wrapped a single piece of twine along with  the red button and secured with a glue dot and tied a bow.
7.   Using the 1 1/2" circle punch, punch out whole circle from Tangerine Tango card stock.
8.  Place under tips of the waves on the left and hanging over the side of the white card stock a bit.
9.  Cut six 1/4" x 5" pieces of Daffodil Delight patterned paper.  Place these in a "Sunburst" pattern extending from the center Tangerine Tango circle.  These pieces will overhang the white card stock.
10.  Once all placed, simply cut off the excess of the strips and the center circle so it is all flush with the edges.
11.  Adhere entire white card base down onto Crumb Cake card.
12.  Color up Digi Image and cut using 3 7/8" x 3" measurement and then backing with slightly bigger piece of Island Indigo card stock.
13.  Place on top of card front using dimensionals or pop dots.
14.  Finish off card with simple stamped sentiment in Island Indigo ink at the bottom.

LMCB #108 AUTUMN SPLENDOR (12x12 Pumpkin Patch Layout)

Good morning everyone!!  This Sunday brings the newest challenge
We are all about AUTUMN SPLENDOR.  Let's see the FALL photos, Foliage, Football... anything to do with FALL.
I chose to do a layout of one of our Pumpkin Patch adventures from past years.  This is from 2008.  My how time flies!  I made a mistake on my layout and put 2009... but I have already fixed it.  (oops)

This is a pretty basic page.  The leaves, the word FALL and the smaller words are all from Little Yellow Bicycle along with the 2 strips of designer paper.  Crumb cake and whisper white are Stampin' Up cardstock I used for the background.  The scallops I punched out myself using a circle punch and the bigger pumpkin is also made using an oval punch 3 times and overlapping the ovals.  Added some linen thread and a hand cut stem and voila!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  I hope you have some time to join us!!  If you are like me, you have LOTS of Fall photos laying around.  So many that you might confuse the dates!! Here is a great excuse to get them on paper!  Come join us and see if you can earn a GUEST DESIGNER SPOT for the month of November!!  Just put GDT after your name when linking up.
Happy Sunday to you all!!!
