"Thoughts Of You Warm My Heart" - DDC # 32 Z-Fold Card

Hello everyone!!  So I am here to remind you about the FUN challenge going on over at
Digi Darla's this week!!  I first told you about this on Monday... but finally have my card to show you.
(I've been working behind the 8 ball lately.  :) )

 HOW DO YOU FOLD??

Show us fun and creative ways that you fold your cards or projects!!

I chose a pretty basic "Z-FOLD" for my card using a DIGI DARLA image called
"A Cup of Heart Chocolate"
Awww... doesn't that make you all warm and tingly inside??
I made this card for my Hubby just because!!  He RARELY checks out my blog, so I should be able to sneak it at him as a surprise. We are huge Hot Cocoa/Coffee drinkers, so this was perfect.

And all opened up...

Quick directions on how I folded this...
Just start out with a piece of card stock cut at 4 1/4" x 9 3/4".
Score it at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".
Then just alternate the folds and voila!!
Decorate until your heart is content!!

I was also very inspired by the challenge over at The Paper Players # 116 where the theme is "Cup of Joy."  Use a cup or cups!  Well, I hope they like mine... cuz I do.  :)

Thanks for looking and see you soon with another project/challenge!!
Happy Day!!

Supplies:
Cardstock:  SU Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Real Red Pawsitively Prints DSP.
Stamps:  Digi Darla's "A Cup of Heart Chocolate", Stampin' Up sentiment "Filled with Love."
Embellies:  SU Triple heart punch, Eyelet border punch, Small Oval punch, Creative Memories circle cutters, Crumb Cake 5/8" ribbon, Markers, pencils and blender pens to color image.

LMCB # 109 "Hometown" - The State Fair

Good Sunday Afternoon!!  I have a fun layout to share with you for the newest challenge over at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges.

"My Hometown"
is the theme of the challenge.
Scrap about anything that tells a little something about your hometown or where you grew up as a child.  This could be a memory, moment, annual event, school spirit,  simply the personality of where you live... so many different avenues for this one!!

This happens to be my current hometown.  I grew up about 45 minutes away.  So I guess you would say I stay close to the nest.  Every year we have a Annual State Fair that bombards our streets!  10 days of traffic jams, parades, concerts and lots of fun.

And here are some close-ups...

I was determined to use LOTS of photos.  I think I still have 30 more from the day.

I am also entering this into the latest challenge over at Just Add Ink # 10 where it's a color challenge to use BRIGHT colors!  Being that the fair photos are all over the place with different happenings... I loved the idea of using bright, bold rainbow colors.  Says happy and cheery to me!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  I hope you find some time to join Lasting Memories and show us a little about your Hometown.
Challenge closes Saturday, 10/13 at 6pm EST.
We are also looking for a Guest Designer for November!!  Be sure to put GDT after your name.

Master Hop List

Supplies:
Digi Darla digital Image - Colorful Sailboat (from September 2012 New Releases)
A - Muse Stamps - "Life's a Breeze" sentiment
Stampin' Up Products-  DSP Patterns pack - Daffodil Delight, Cardstock:  Tangerine Tango, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Twine in Island Indigo, Designer Button from Holly Berry Bouquet, 1" Circle punch, 1 1/2" Circle punch, Scallop Edge Border punch, Markers:  Real Red, Pool Party, Yoyo Yellow, Island Indigo.  Close to Cocoa & Brocade Blue colored pencils used with blender pen.
Creative Memories - Oval Cutting Template 3 7/8" x 3"

How I put this card together:
1.  This is your basic 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" size card. (Crumb Cake card stock)
2.  I cut the white background to 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".
3.  Before adhering the white base onto the Crumb Cake card, I cut two 1" x 5 3/8" strips of Island Indigo card stock.  The top one I used the 1" circle punch and made consecutive "half circle" punches to simulate waves.
4.  The bottom one I also used the 1" circle punch and again cut "half circle" punches, but lined them along the bottom to create a bigger scallop.
5.  I then cut a 1" piece of crumb cake card stock and and used the scallop border punch on each side.
6.  Before adhering that on top of the Island Indigo pieces, I wrapped a single piece of twine along with  the red button and secured with a glue dot and tied a bow.
7.   Using the 1 1/2" circle punch, punch out whole circle from Tangerine Tango card stock.
8.  Place under tips of the waves on the left and hanging over the side of the white card stock a bit.
9.  Cut six 1/4" x 5" pieces of Daffodil Delight patterned paper.  Place these in a "Sunburst" pattern extending from the center Tangerine Tango circle.  These pieces will overhang the white card stock.
10.  Once all placed, simply cut off the excess of the strips and the center circle so it is all flush with the edges.
11.  Adhere entire white card base down onto Crumb Cake card.
12.  Color up Digi Image and cut using 3 7/8" x 3" measurement and then backing with slightly bigger piece of Island Indigo card stock.
13.  Place on top of card front using dimensionals or pop dots.
14.  Finish off card with simple stamped sentiment in Island Indigo ink at the bottom.
