Pool Time...

Happy Sunday.  Yes it's me again... twice this week.  I am amazing myself.  :)  It also helps that we have had thunderstorms here for 2 days, we've vacationed a ton and YES... Football has begun!
I love watching all the ins and outs of the game... even during this Pre-season stuff... but better yet, my Husband is engrossed with the TV and his (still figuring out) Fantasy Football team... that my Scrapping time just might get to increase.
It's the start of a new challenge over Lasting Memories.
Our overall August theme is "Sky High"...
So this week we want to see you add a Starburst or Sunburst to your layouts.
LM 255

My layout is actually the 2nd page to a layout I did a few months ago.  And here it is all together...

So glad I could get this done and join in a challenge!
I wish the same for all of you.

See you soon!!

On the River...

Hello!  Long time no scrap!!  Then when I get on a roll... I get on a roll.  And it's usually when I can't sleep.  That was me last night.  :)  Anyone else have this problem?
Well I am here to show you the latest challenge at Lasting Memories this week.
It's a Sketch challenge along with "Scrap your favorite destination."
LM236
Here is my take...

I have practically grown up on this river.  Boating, waterskiing, swimming... whatever we want to do with not many rules.  Thankfully my parents bought a place 25 years ago.  I can positively say that it's my favorite destination and my kids get to enjoy it with me and this time my Husband too. (He works many times that we go vacation here)

Here is the sketch to follow...

You have all month to join us.  I hope you do.  There is a very cool prize, Top 3 and GDT to be awarded.
I was also greatly inspired by the colors at Color Throwdown ctd337
Perfect Beachy and River colors!!
And... I am taking a gander at the current Scrap Our Stash challenge 25...
You need to include and item using each letter in the word STAMP.
S - Sequins
T - Twine and Teal colors
A - Alphas
M - Medallion Embellie
P - Pen, Photos, Punched circles
Thanks all for stopping by.  Love it when I get scrapping time in.  :)

Wipeout!!

Hey friends!!  So I have been working on a custom order for a friend and am so close to finishing... so I took some time out for myself (finally) and created this layout!!  So excited to get these things scrapped.

A new challenge over at Lasting Memories started on Sunday and it's all about

"Favourite TV Game Show"
Go Here to Link Up...
LMCB217

Create a layout based on a TV Game Show!!

WIPEOUT!!  This is actually my son's favorite TV Game show.  And how appropriate since this is all about him.  Unfortunately his summer didn't end real well when he broke his wrist after falling while riding his Ripstick in July.  It was his favorite birthday present and well it proved to not be his friend.  He hasn't ridden it since.  He plays other sports, so being cautious.  Will be getting him all kinds of protective gear soon!

I was also inspired by the November challenge over at 123 Get Scrappy!!
Use 3 things from this board in a row!

I used... ONE WORD TITLE, MORE THAN 2 RIBBONS (3rd is tied around one wrapped on paper on left) & MASCULINE

My first time entering this challenge.  Not the last.  You have until December 1st to play!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'll be back again sooner rather than later.  Catching up on ME and some DT assignments.  :)

LMCB 149 "Birds and Bees."

Happy Sunday all!  It's time for the next challenge over at
And the theme...
"The Birds and the Bees."
LOL!! It's not what you think... we want to see either
BIRDS or BEES on your layouts this week.
Although... pretty funny, our DT had quite the discussion as you can imagine.  We didn't want to scare you.

I chose BIRDS to showcase on my layout.  I feel this photo doesn't do my layout justice.  Darn nighttime photography... but the photos hold a special place in my heart.  This was in 2010 on our annual Family Vacation.  Our kiddos were 7 and 4 and to think that it is 3 years later.  Oh how time FLIES!!!  Thus my birds on my layout.  :)
Here is a close-up of my birds.

I used a kit from Close to My Heart called   "Magnifique."  Then I added some elements from Little Yellow Bicycle "Paradise" collection.

Hope you can join us this week!  Can't wait to see your take on this challenge.!!

Good Sunday morning to you all!  I'm here to share with you the latest challenge over at

Here is a double page spread I did of my kiddos and I hanging out at our "Home away from home" during the summer time.  (Hubby working) Can you figure out my song choice??

"I can see clearly now that the rain is gone.  It's going to be a bright, bright sun-shiny day."
1972 - Johnny Cash
Just so you all know... when I thought of this one.. and mind you, I was only 2 when it came it out... it has been stuck in my head all week.  :-)

Here are some close-ups...

This layout is done mostly using the "Footloose" kit from Close to My Heart
I like the beachy colors.  It's sort of one of my more scattered layouts.  I kept adding stuff.  Didn't know when to stop.  I'm sure you can all relate.  "Just gotta walk away."

Come out and join us for our fun "Sweatin' to the Oldies" challenge.
You can win this!!!

PPC Specialty Ch. #8 - Snow Lake Hiking Layout

Good morning to everyone!!  I have a sick kiddo and had internet connection problems last night... so I am hoping my day can only get better!!  So far so good... as I am chatting to all of you!
Today over at Picture Perfect Creations...crafty challenges we have a FUN and EASY Specialty challenge for you!!
Simply create any kind of project using 2 Ribbons and 3 Buttons.
I took the opportunity to create a Scrap Layout.  This is a picture of my DH and DD in 2004 on our hike to Snow Lake in the Cascade Mountains.  6 miles of steep incline, rocks and switchbacks... and he carried her the whole time!  It was also 88 degrees and MUGGY.  I'm surprised we actually did this... but I guess we were younger (ha) and we were determined to see the end result.  This photo doesn't do the scenery justice... but daughter is happy as a clam!!  She just got to sit back and ride along.

My Taffeta Ribbon and Baker's Twine are my 2 "ribbon" choices and then I have 1 button in the center of my ribbon bow and 2 buttons tacking down the left part of my title.

I followed Sketch 7.14 from Sketchy Thursdays this week!!  I am loving their sketches lately. My title and the overall layout is sort of "Enlarged" from the original sketch... but you get the idea.

I will be adding a 2nd page to this layout... for I have lots of fun pictures and more of a story to tell.  So be on the lookout for that soon!!

Come on over and join us for PPC Specialty Ch 8 this week.  Any sort of crafty project allowed!!  As long as it has 2 ribbons and 3 buttons on it somewhere!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Supplies:

StampsStampin' Up Quirky Alphabet & Snowfall
EmbelliesSU  Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon, Rich Regals Buttons and White Baker's Twine, 1 1/4" circle punch, scallop border punch
