PLG #33 and DDC # 12 - SWEET Dandelions!! (12 x 12 Layout using a card sketch)

As I type this in REAL time of 11:00pm at night... I realize that 1/2 the week is over and the 3 day weekend is almost upon us.  Yay!!  What big plans do you all have?  We are supposed to have just one nice day of weather.  We are visiting the In-laws at the beach 1 day... and hoping to find a new adventure hike to take the kids on another.  And of course I will be crafting in my down time.  Oh.... and I am learning to love reading books again.  Yes MOM!!  You read that right... I am about 1/2 way through "The Fiddler" by Beverly Lewis.  It keeps my attention... and that is the whole idea.  I am not going to jinx myself.  The next "Book Report" you get from me is when I actually finish the book.

Tonight I have a layout to bring you for a couple different challenges.

Close-up of digi image used.  "Boy with Flowers" from Digi Darlas.  I colored him with SU pencils and then went over with a blender pen.  I also fussy cut him out and popped him up with some dimensionals so he stands out a bit.

Close-up of my handcut dandelions.  I just took my 2 different scallop punches, punched a scallop and then cut along each petal towards the center to create a dandelion like image.

Over at Paper Lovin' Gals 33... we have a black white inspirational photo of dandelions in their "Naked" state as my son would say.  Well along with my black, white, red and yellow.. I was inpsired to show some bright and cheerful dandelions.  Here is the inspirational photo to follow so you can join us!!  You have until Wednesday, May 30th at 8pm PST to enter.

On a bittersweet note... this will be the last PLG challenge for a while.  At least through summer.  Life has taken over for a few of us.  But we will come back with spunk and excitement!!

Over at Digi Darlas Challenges # 12  ...my friend KAREN came up with her very first CARD SKETCH to use along with a Digi Darla image for their latest challenge and DT call!!  Well... I was very excited that I could use her sketch and make a scrapbook layout with it.  The sketch and image that I chose is sooo perfect to tell the story of my son picking dandelions while his Dad was mowing the lawn.  I caught him doing this and of course grabbed my camera.  He was so serious and then he saw me and was sooo proud!  He said he was picking flowers for me.  :-)

Here is the card sketch to follow... Isn't this great????

I remember being scared to use digi images.  I always thought you could only use them in all Digital Layouts or cards.  Boy was I ever wrong!
I hope you like what you see and you have some time to join either of these challenges!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

PLG #30 along with FM #57 - Pop-Up Hot Air Balloons (Card)

Happy Thursday and WELCOME to another FUN challenge at Paper Lovin' Gals!
This week we are doing something a little different.
We are joining the FRIDAY MASHUP to mash up a challenge!
Picture Inspiration #30 along with Friday Mashup #57

1.  Use the below photo as inspiration for your creation. (Colors, theme, cookies etc...)
or
2.  Make a Mother's Day Themed project
or
3.  Make a Pop-up Card

OR... pick any sort of combination of the above or combine all 3 for the ultimate MASHUP!!

And here is my creation...

I used the Lighter Pink, the Melon Mambo and the Yellow colors from the cookies for my Hot Air Balloon colors.  I also included the pink with polka dots design on my bigger balloon.  And then of course I POPPED up my Hot Air Balloons for a fun 3-d effect.  This was really easy to do.  Simply punch 5 to 6 circles all in the same size and fold each one in half.  Adhere right side of one circle to the left side of the other.  Continue this pattern until you reach the desired number of layers.  Adher flat side to bade of the card.  EASY!!  I also used the cupcake punch for the basket part of the Hot Air Balloon.  I punched it twice so I could arrange in a layered fashion to look like the strings were inside the basket.  I had fun making this card and it was pretty simple.

Hope you find some time to join our challenge this week for PLG 30!!  You have until Wednesday, May 9th at 8pm PST to link up your photo inspired or mashuped project!!

I am also entering my card into the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant # 146 - "Springtime"

Springtime, Rainbows and Banners!!

Oh Happy Friday!  I have a quick, clean and simple card to share with you that is created using mostly punches!!  Gotta love that!!  I am also inviting you to PLAY with us over at the newest challenge over at Paper Lovin' Gals!!  It's all about Banners and Bright fun colors!!

Here is my Creation...

Here is the Inspiration Photo to follow for PLG 27!!

I also followed the sketch from Freshly Made sketches # 30

And now a little about my card.  I used a Creative Memories circle cutter for the yellow of the sun.  I used the Star Punch from SU for the orange triangles.  Just simply punched the star and then snipped off the triangle ends.  I used the 2 1/2" round scallop punch for the bigger sized clouds and the cupcake punch for the smaller clouds.  Both of these from SU.  I used the 1/2" punch from SU for the small circles that are from the BRIGHTS DSP collection from SU to create my banner at the top.  So 4 different punches and my card was basically finished!!  :-) As you can see the circles are folded in half around some linen thread for my banner and after placing my clouds in the just perfect formation, I outlined with a black journaler for added definition.  Stamped the sentiment and everything sits on Tempting Turquoise DSP from Stampin' Up... and VOILA!!  Done!!

Thank you so much for visiting!  I hope you can find some time to play over at Paper Lovin' Gals Challenge # 27.  You have until Wednesday, April 18th at 8pm PST.  So lots of time!!  Head on over to see what the DT came up with!!

The challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches # 30 ends Monday, April 16th at NOON PST.

Have fun it all of your crafting endeavors!!

Here is the Inspiration Photo to follow for the challenge...

PLG #23 - "Kiss Me I'm Irish" and some challenge friends

Hello my crafty friends!!  This week is just cruising by for me.  I am also feeling very productive in the crafty department.  I may sacrafice 1 to 3 hours of sleep at times.. but it jazzes me up to know that another layout gets to adorn our albums.  I also caught my kiddos looking through 3 of my main scrap albums the other day.  Sister reading the journaling to Brother.  I'm sure alot of you know how that feels, but I am here to emphasize that it is so bittersweet and makes me so happy that I started keeping our memories this way.
Okay... now that I just went on that little tangent... back to my crafty post and all the fun challenges that I followed to help me create this.  :-)
My layout today showcases some really cool "Double" rainbows that we saw out our front living room window last year in March.  Our house faces a mountain range.  So alot of openness and a chance to see fun things.  Our son was in such awe... and at the age of 4 was so determined to see Mr. Leprechaun.  He also wanted to immediately go on a hike to find the Pot of Gold.  Ohhhhhhh my precious!!

Here is my layout to share...

Close up of the Rainbow banner, green clover leafs, title...(not crazy about my title, but I was running out of room.)

And from a different angle...the Pot of Gold

Paper Lovin' Gals # 23 - has a wonderful IRISH photo for your inspiration.  My inspiration was the green, white, the hanging puff ball banner and the words.  Lucky Rainbows always come to mind when thinking of St. Patrick's Day.  If ony this year we could be so lucky!!  You have until Wednesday, March 21st @ 8pm to play along!!

Creative Scrappers Sketch # 199 helped me with my whole placing of my layout.  Some fun sketches to try over there.  You have until the end of March to try at least 1 of their 5  "March" sketches.  This is my first time entering, even though I have drooled over their sktches for quite some time.  Go see.  :-)

Getting Scrappy - "Color Me Lucky" - is all about using the color GREEN on your layout and including a Cricut or SVG cut.  My Title and Pot of Gold are cut from the Simply Charmed cart and my Clover Leafs are from Paper Doll Dress-up.  Always happy to join Amanda and her DT for their challenges.  You have until this Sunday to play along!!

Hand Stamped Sentiments # 109 - RAINBOWS is a new challenge blog I found.  :-)  They are a group of Stampin' Up Ladies...(which  I have PLENTY of that product on most of my creations)... that just happened to be having a challenge that is all about Rainbows.  Well... I have the obvious photos and then my fun Pennant Banner that I made with the SU Pennant Builder punch.  So I had to join these Gals for the fun.  Also... You don't have to use SU products.  The welcome any and all.

Lasting Memories # 79 "We are feeling LUCKY."  Last but not least... this is a REMINDER call out to all of you that we have a challenge going on until Saturday at 9pm EST.  With a PRIZE!!  You just need to use the word LUCKY somewhere on your layout.  I have it written in my journaling.  So of course I am going to share with my group.  If you want to see my FIRST layout I made for this challenge, click HERE.

Boy... chatty post.  If you made it this far.. THANK YOU!!!  :-)

FEBRUARY!!  My favorite month!  It's my Birthday month (which honestly... I am done counting the years).  It's one more month to SPRING.. which means we made it through January, the most dreaded month it seems... we have a little mini break during the President's Weekend Holiday, which is always a welcome gift and OF COURSE it's VALENTINE's Day!!  Not that I am a huge romantic...but at least it is a set day for chocolate, good food and maybe I will get to watch what I want on the TV for an hour??  Ha Ha.

So that brings to you our next challenge over at Paper Lovin' Gals!!  Paper Hearts!!

Paper Lovin' Gals Ch. # 16 - "SPRING colors" (Happy Birthday Card)

As I am typing this... I am realizing that January is almost over.  So that means... just a few more months until we get to enjoy some SPRING in our step in the good ol' outdoors!!  Well here is another "Springy, Flowery with Butterflies" inspirational photo challenge for you to try at Paper Lovin' Gals!!

Here is what I came up with...
As much as I love the flowers and the butterflies... I was clearly inspired by the darker pink, lighter pink and green for the colors for my card.  And the fact that I NEEDED a birthday card.  Actually, I need A lot of B-day cards.  New year... new birthdays.  :-)
I also need to give some credit to Mary - Stamper Camper's Corner for the fun layout.  I like how the piece with the sentiment and image comes off the edge of the card a bit.

I hope you can find some time to join us this week for PLG #16!!  You have until Tuesday, January 31st @ 8pm to link up!  Please check out the other Design Team member's creations.  Some fun things!!
Happy Stampin, Craftin' and Scrappin'.

I'm also entering my card over at Birthday Sundaes # 40  where you guessed it... Make a birthday card with some kind of "Birthday Wording" on the front.  Kristie is the owner/creator of the challenge blog... and I have followed since day 1.  Just don't get to play as often as I would like.  Go see for yourself... lots of fun birthday creations over there!!

Paper Lovin' Gals #15 - "Spring Fever" Layout

Ohhhhh my!!  What a heck of a lot of snow have we had in my neck of the woods!!  So with that said... it's time to tell you about the next challenge at Paper Lovin' Gals. (PLG #15)
Does this scream SPRING or what???

It sure does to me... so I am sharing a layout with you that warms me up a bit!  :-)

I kept this pretty simple.  Pulled the YELLOW and the FLOWERS from the inspirational photo for my creation.  My kids love playing in the snow... but SPRING is the time that it seems you can do so much more outside.  Soccer, digging, running, just playing around is what it is all about.  These are some pics from 2009.  Even though I don't make New Year's resolutions... I told myself that the non-chronological scrapper in me would get caught up on some old photos this year.  So I am on my way!!  :-)

Come join us for PLG #15 and show us any creation you can think of that is inspired by our "Pretty Yellow Flower" photo!!  So much you can do with this.  I personally love those Mason Jars... but have nothing in my stash that would have worked.
You have until Tuesday, January 24th at 8:00pm PST to link up your project.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!!

Supplies:
Stampin' Up - "Sunshine Garden" Simply Scrappin' Kit & "Big Deal" Alpha stamp set.  Ink is "Only Orange.

Paper Lovin' Gals # 13 shakes hands with Frosted Designs Sketch # 31

Good Evening all!  Yes... I am really typing this at midnight for those of you on PST time.  I had a 40 minute cat nap today... and it re-energized me!  I NEVER do that... but worked very early... so it naturally happened.  Not to mention... I am enjoying the quiet house of everyone sleeping.
I'm here to share with you the next Photo Inspiration challenge for Paper Lovin' Gals # 13.  I know most of you are past Christmas already... but I am letting go slowly.  So here is my layout that I created...

And here is the Inspirational Photo to get your wheels turning.

As you can see... I had some perfect tree branches with snow on them.  Naturally, the photos of SNOW that we had on Christmas Morning back in 2008.  I don't remember if that has ever happened in my lifetime where I live.  I used alot of Red, White, snowflakes and some red Bling here and there to take from the berries.  I am only missing the bird.  So... show us what you see in the photo and create anything you like and link up HERE by next Tuesday at 8pm PST.
We are still in the early stages of our challenge blog and would love to have you join us.  Tell your friends!! :-)

I also want to share with you a FUN blog that I go to often for my sketches called Frosted Designs .  They have 3 different challenges going on at the same time... and for my layout, I am entering into the Sketch Along Tuesday #31 challenge.  Here is their sketch that I followed.  (Thank you F.D.!!)

Thanks for stopping by to visit.
And a very WARM welcome to my new followers!!  Always a happy thing!!

Fa la la la la.. la la... la. la!  Whew!  Boy have the Holidays hit my house ever so hard this last week!!  Lots of shopping, decorating, tree hunting...and that's on top of normal life.  We've got house lights to string up and x-mas cards to get out in the mail.  I know it's only the beginning of December... but our calendar tends to fill up fast... so getting 'er done so I can enjoy the Holiday and keep crafting too!!  :-)  With that said... I am few days late sharing with you the next challenge for Paper Lovin' Gals.  It's a very bright and colorful christmas photo inspiration!!  Show us what you SEE in the above photo and link up to PLG #8 by Tuesday 12/6 at 8pm PST for your chance to be honored with being a "Winner" or 1 of 2 "Runners up."
Here's is my take on the photo...

It's a gift card holder for one of our recipients this year on Christmas Day.  The main cardstock is from Stampin' Up... Not Quite Navy.. .and the rest of the elements are from a Stampin' Up Retired Simply Scrappin' Kit.  I apologize.. I don't recall the stamp set.. for I borrowed it.

Please go visit and check out what the wonderful PLG Design Team has to share with you.  So much inspritation!!
I hope you all find time to join us between now and TUESDAY 12/8 8pm PST!!!
Happy December!!
