Digi Darla's #100 - "My Style"

Hey there!!  Happy Monday!! I'm here with a happy sunshiny card to showcase the next challenge starting at  Digi Darla's this week. It's all about ..."My Style."
Meaning... what is your go to preferred "Look" to your cards or scrap pages?  I tend to go for multiple patterns of paper, bright colors, layers, I love scallops and I always add faux stitching to wherever it may look good.  I also like creating scenes to my creations.  This is your basic size card as well.  I stick with the basic 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock, cut in half to get two perfect cards made.
I used Digi Darla Image "Forecasting Showers of Happiness."  (I made up the sentiment myself)

DDC # 84 - THINK PINK

Good morning everyone!  It's a new challenge over at Digi Darla's.   In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, it's all about PINK.  I think almost all of us have been touched by someone in their lives that have had a bump in with cancer.  I know I have.  (Mom, Grandma & friends)  FORTUNATELY, everyone I know at the present moment neither has it or has fought it or is in some kind of remission.  Yay!!  So to keep the cheery side of things for my creation, I chose to start on those Holiday cards.  I said it.  HOLIDAY cards.  They will be here before you know it. Make a project that is a "Thinking of you" type theme along with LOTS of PINK on your creation!!   Using DD Image "Dot in Winter"

I was also inspired by the sketch over at The Sweetest Thing.

Happy Monday once again!!  There is a new challenge at Digi Darla's today.

It's a SKETCH challenge from DENISE, our challenge coordinator. Yay!!

Here is the sketch.

I wanted to keep my card simple... but with the full effect of a Hot Air Balloon in the sky.  So I used clusters of clouds where the circles are and cut out my Digital Image for extra 3D pop.  The image I used is called "Up and Away Balloon."

DDC #66 "Fancy Fold Cards" - Happy Birthday Gift Card Holder

Happiest of Mondays to all of you!  I have a fun yet SIMPLE card to share with you. It's a fun Gift Card holder.
Our newest challenge over at Digi Darla's is to make a FANCY FOLD card or some sort of SHAPE card. 
 Just for playing along, you have a chance to win 5 FREE images and for using a Digi Darla image, you have a chance to win and additional 3 images.

Here's mine using Digi Darla image "Balloons and Bow"

And here it is all opened up...

I found the tutorial from the Spring 2013 issue of Card Maker magazine.

1.  Cut a 4 1/4" x 11 inch piece of cardstock.

2.  With paper horizontal on a scoring board (I just used my cutter tool)... start at left edge and score at 3, 4 1/4, 5 1/2, and 8 1/2 inch marks.

3.  Cut card stock at the 4 1/4" score line into 2 pieces.

4.  Fold along all score lines.

5.  To form the gift card pocket, adhere the 1 1/4" flaps together applying adhesive  at short edges and along scored line only.

6.  Sizes of patterned paper on inside of card are 2 3/4", two at 1 1/4" x 4 inches, one 3 x 4", and one 2 1/2 x 4".  Adhere all.

7.  The 2 pieces of patterned paper on the outside as it is all folded together is 2 3/4" and 2 1/4" x 4 inches.  

8.  To form band wrapped around, cut a 3/4 x 7 1/2" piece of paper.  Score at 2 1/4" and 5 1/2" marks.  Fold on score lines, overlap ends and adhere together to form a band.

9.  Slide band over folded card and adhere anything you want to band using foam adhesive.

Digi Darla's # 65 "Make It Masculine" along with a Card Sketch from ASC # 33

Hello everyone!  Happy Monday.  Today I have a simple, yet full of thought card to share with you.  Made this for my Dad for Father's Day.  Hopefully he doesn't check my blog out.  He is an AVID softball player at an age of near 70.  (almost 67).  He travels to play all over the Western United States.  He is not growing up.  Let me tell you.  :)

 This image from Digi Darla called "GRAND SLAM" is perfecto!!

Our theme challenge for Digi Darla's this week is "Make It Masculine."  Won't you love to join us?  You have a chance to win 8 Digi Images.  5 for playing along and an extra 3 for using a DD image.  Easy!!

I used Prisma colored pencils to color the image, and Stampin' Up products for the basics of the card.  

I am also entering my card along with Leanne over for her June Card Sketch Challenge at Artful Delight... delightful inspiration ASC 33.  I flipped the sketch on it's side.  Yay!  Glad I could play along over there.  GREAT Card and Scrap kits over there!!

Lil' Chef - DDC 64 "Father's Day" Challenge (+ 2 other challenges for inspiration)

FATHER'S DAY

I decided to do another scrap layout about a recent event of when our son asked his Dad (former Chef) to show him how to cook.  Well okay then... not only did he learn how to cook rice on the stove top (simple), but I managed to snap this photo of the exact same mannerisms with his leg crossed in the back and the towel draped over the left shoulder.  A total Father/Son moment in my book!  

I used the Digi Darla Image "Number 1 Dad" - Newly Released last week. 

I also followed a sketch from My Scraps & More Sketches # 30

The newest challenge from The Pink Elephant TPE 201 is all about "Stars and Stripes" theme.

Got my stars, lots of strips or stripes and red, white and blue going on here.

A Family Hike... and HELLO! LMCB 139 and DDC 62 and inspiration from ColorQ 188.

Well Hello!!  Good to be back into the swings of crafting.  Thank you "Mother's Day" for letting me have a somewhat relaxing day and doing a little for myself as well.  :)  I hope the rest of you Mom's and Mom figures enjoyed your day!!
Let's just say kids, family, sports, activities and end of the school year everything has this Mom a little busy.  After a slight absence... I am here to bring you my TWO Design Team challenges with my creation today!!

In the midst of my busyness... we were able to take a family hike last weekend.  So hot, but so fun.  We were all proud we treked our way to the top and made it!!

First Challenge to note... is from Lasting Memories Layout Challenges that just started today (Sunday).  And this week we want to see those layouts inspired by a TV SHOW!!  Well my layout represents a new show on the Discovery Channel called "Dual Survival."  We accidentally turned that on one night, and the kids couldn't keep their eyes off of it.  So intriguing how those guys survive in the wilderness and many other outrageous conditions.  Our challenge goes until Saturday at 6pm EST.  Go check out what the rest of the DT did.  Lots of fun ideas!!  

Second Challenge to note... is from Digi Darla's that is starting in a few hours (Monday)... I'm just a few hours early since I did this one larger creation and well my wonderful DT gals said I could... since I felt a little off track lately.  Thank you Ladies!!

Our theme this week is to MAKE a TAG!!  Well as you can see... I made a tag... but then added it to my layout.  I used Digi Darla Image "Happy Hiker."

Here is a close up.

One thing to note... the mouse, squirrel and bird are added embellishments.  The DD image is the Hiker, sign and ground puddle.  

Go see a little later today the BEAUTIFUL tags that the DT made for this.  The challenge goes until 6pm EST next Saturday as well.  :)  Chance to win a total of 8 DD images!!!  

And finally... I was inspired by another challenge that I tend to look at weekly... but never have a chance to play.  I used the colors from Color Q 188.  

Here is my layout page by page...  shows the colors a tad better.  I brightened up my upper photo because I felt I couldn't see it.  

Other than the Digi Image and the random foliage and animal stickers... everything else is created with Stampin' Up cardstock and punches.

DDC 59 - Earth Day - Use at least 1 recycled item

It's time for another fun challenge over at Digi Darla's.  

In honor of Earth Day, this week's challenge is all about showing our GREEN and we want to see at least

1 recycled item used on your project.

It can be as simple as scraps.

  I am dedicating this post to our lovely daughter that turned the big double digits yesterday.  Ugh!  Time flies!

In honor of her B-day... I made this 8 x 8 mini layout/card for her that highlighted bits and pieces of her last 10 years.  She loved it!

My recycled items used are... punched out circles from scraps, ribbon that was tied around a notepad cube and then the 10 glorious photos that I scanned into the computer and then up-cycled into this photo collage.

Hoppier Days ahead for you... - DDC 58 and FMS 81

Good morning!  I'm here to share with you the newest challenge over at DIGI DARLA'S!!  Our theme this week is...

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

Show us your flowers, trees, veggies... basically anything that GROWS in a garden.  

Well in my case, I couldn't resist using this adorable image called "FROGGY SHOWERS."  It's one of Digi' Darla's New Releases this month.  The mushroom umbrella definitely depicts the growth of ugly mushrooms in our garden.  That's what we get with all of our rain.  

Besides the Digi Darla image, all of my products used are from Stampin' Up.  SU Markers and Cardstock in Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade and Baja Breeze and a few other colors used to color the digi image,  Floral District DSP,  Lucky Limeade organza ribbon, flower buttons, clouds embossing folder and PROUD MOMENT... I came up with the sentiment all on my own.  I've seen the word "Hoppier" used with Frogs and Bunnys... but added the rest myself.  

I am also entering my card over at Freshly Made Sketches # 81 where they are all about clean and simple.  Just gotta remind myself to walk away.  :)

Sweet Baby - DDC # 56 (Laughter or Brings a Smile)

Oh my...  I am a tad late to this party!  My kids are on Spring Break this week... and I actually created this card a week ahead of time!  Completely forgot to post!  So sorry!!  Well here you are and here is the latest challenge over at Digi Darla's!!  

Being that yesterday was April Fool's, the theme of this weeks challenge is 

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE  

Create a project that is humorous or simply brings a smile!!

I chose the "Bringing a SMILE" part of the challenge.  Who can't smile at the thought of a new baby?!!  

I used Digi Darla's image called "Cuddly Elephant."  

I made this card for my Niece.  They were revealing whether it was a boy or a girl... so I had to go with the neutral theme of yellow until we found out.  They are having a BOY!!  So fun!!  

She loves Elephants and Chevrons... she indeed loved my card.  Always makes me smile.

DDC 54 - Easter/Spring - Happy Easter Layout

It's the start of the latest challenge over at DIGI DARLA's!!  We want to see your EASTER and/or SPRING creations!!  Oh how I am ready for some sunshine.  We have had lots of teasing weather where I live.  Just wish it would make up it's mind.  And I have noticed our kiddos are much happier when the sun is out!!

and a color challenge from Color Throwdown # 233.  It was hard to stick to JUST these colors for a double page spread.. .but  I actually managed.  :)
