Hey Bloggy Buddies!! ... need a Voting favor for a friend!! (Please)

Friday Mashup

Vote For your Favorite Theme for a challenge!!!

My bloggy buddy and fellow DT sister,  Michele, from Michele Hearts Paper submitted a theme idea for the Friday Mashup Blog and MADE THE TOP 4 with her idea!!

Now there is a voting poll in the top right corner of the The Friday Mashup Blog with hers being the

The Roses and Circles
entry.

It's pretty cute what her idea is... it would be called "Ring around the Rosie" and you would create a project with just roses or just circles or MASH it UP and create a roses with circles creation.

Would be so kind to take a minute and hop on over and cast your vote for the above theme??
Voting closes tomorrow at 12 noon EST

Thanks all!!!!
:-)

Lasting Memories Ch. 44 - "Recycle on your Layout" - Ferry Boat 12 x 12 Layout

Hi Gang!!!  This week at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges... we have a pretty simple Challenge for you.  Once I personally realized that I didn't have to wash Milk Cartons or Aluminum Cans to participate (Ha!)... I had all kinds of ideas pop into my head.. for really... I think I "Recycle" on almost every layout I create.  Recycle, Re-Use, Re-Purpose... this means... attack your never ending SCRAP stash, use those small ribbon pieces, ticket stubs from concerts, fronts of cards that were given to you... the list is really never ending!!
I think I need to RECYCLE the past couple of days :-)... for I am a little late submitting this.. but better late than never.
Here is what I came up with...

The recycled Aluminim Foil for the sunglasses...

Close-up of the journaling and the piece of Recycled String that I added...

Other than the Letter Stickers for the title and the photos themselves... I TRUELY recycled everything on this layout.  Every bit of paper used is from my scrap stash.  Even the background paper behind the pictures is left over from the "Congrats Card" I just made for Monday.  (Scroll down to see that post)

Mr. Sunshine is hand cut.  The rays are just strips cut the same size.  I got that idea from the August issue of Scrapbooks Etc. (on the cover).  The sunglasses are using the 1 1/4" and 1" circle punches.. then placing the foil behind.  (I'm pretty proud for thinking up that idea!!!)  The frame is hand cut.  The Water is punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch and the 1 3/4" circle punch is varying places to make it look like moving waves.  The clouds are punched with the regular size scallop circle punch and the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch.  The Life Buoy is from the "Life is a Beach" Cricut cartridge.
So... if I can do this... YOU CAN TOO!  Come join us over at LMCH CH 44 and show us your recycled layouts!!  The Design Team has all kinds of ideas to share with you as well.
You have until Saturday 9:00pm EST to ENTER!!!

I am also entering this layout over at the Getting Scrappy Challenge 11 - Get Punchy!!  Well as you can see from above.. I used all kinds of punches.  You also need to include a Cricut or SVG cut somewhere on the layout. (Life Buoy)

And finally... I am joining the Linking Party over at You had me at craft - Made it myself Mondays where you can link up with others and have fun sharing your stuff and visiting some new friends!!

Thanks so much for sticking with me through this longer than usual post!  :-)

Picture Perfect Creations Ch. #63 - A CONGRATS card that almost wasn't...

The colors for the PPC 63 color combo challenge really jumped out at me this week.  It's that glorious Poppy Parade that gives me smiles.  I immediately had an idea for a 4th of July creation... but had second thoughts when I didn't think I should substitute the traditional "Blue" with Basic Grey.  So my little stars are taking on a new meaning for a well deserved Congratulations card.

And the Color Combo...

Come on over to PPC and show us what you can do with these colors.  If 4th of July crosses your mind... then go for it!!  :-)  I still may on a different project.  As usual, the Design Team has some fun ideas to share with you!  Lots of wonderful inspiration.
Hope to see you!  And remember... any kind of crafty creation, paper or not, is allowed.  Just use these colors. It's also your chance to earn a fun "Winner or Runner-up" badge for your blog to show off to your friends!!  So why not??

Lasting Memories Layout Ch. 42 - Create your own background using a punch!!

Hello friends!!  Today I am excited to share with you my layout for our next Lasting Memories Layout CH 42  that is happening right now!!  We were asked to create our own background using a punch!  I decided to make a "Scene" with my punches for my Hiking Wallace Falls layout.

The clouds are punched with the scallop circle punch from Stampin' Up and then cut in half.  I outlined the puffy part of the clouds with a brown marker to highlight them a little better.
The Trees are punched with the Double Photo Corner punch from Stampin' Up and then layered on top of eachother to create the "Tree top."
Left Page (Closer view)...

Right Page (Closer view)...

Everything else is cut by hand with paper cutter, craft blade etc.  I had alot of fun puting this together.  Normally, I would go right for my Cricut on something like this... but thinking outside the box and using punches was great.

I am also entering my layout into the "Fun In the Sun Ch." 9 over at Whimsical Wednesday .  Besides showing "Fun in the Sun", you also have to include STAMPING on your layout.  I have a couple stamps above and below 2 of the photos.  "Way to go" and "Bee Happy."

Believe it or not... this was an almost 80 degree day.  We headed for the Trees, Hills and the Falls!  Our first hike with our kids that we didn't have to worry about Baby packs, Jogger strollers or complaining.  :-)  Lots of water, snacks and stops to check out everything around us.  They made it 4 1/2 miles to the Mid-Falls point. We will wait a few years for the trek to the top.  It's another 4 miles one way and very steep switchbacks.
All in all a fun accomplishing day and I am happy to share with you.

Head on over to LASTING MEMORIES and show us what you can do with a punch on your background paper!!  The Design Team has some wonderful ideas to show you!!
You have until Saturday, June 18th 9:00pm EST to enter our challenge!!

PPC-CC 61 - Thank you Card

Gosh these weeks sure do seem to go fast!!  We have had some really nice weather the last few days... so not inside much.  It's about time!!
It's Monday again... which means it is time for another color combo challenge from Picture Perfect Creations...crafty challenges.  These colors stumped me.  I had an idea to scrap a Hiking Layout... but couldn't get the pictures to print the way I wanted them.  So when in doubt... use flowers for anything and I am always needing Thank You cards.  So with that said... here is what I came up with.

Here is the color combo...

I was able to use these colors to a tee... except I did not have "Cajun Craze" INK... so you see ** "Really Rust" as my substitute.  Pretty darn close.  (You are welcome to do the same.  Use substitutes when necessary.) And remember... Andy kind of crafty project welcome!!
I would love to see what you come up with this week.  Grab a cup of coffee and head on over to the PPC Challenge Blog for challenge # 61.  The DT's have done it again with their wonderful creations!!
Hope to see you!!
Have a wonderful Monday!!
