On the River...

Hello!  Long time no scrap!!  Then when I get on a roll... I get on a roll.  And it's usually when I can't sleep.  That was me last night.  :)  Anyone else have this problem?
Well I am here to show you the latest challenge at Lasting Memories this week.
It's a Sketch challenge along with "Scrap your favorite destination."
LM236
Here is my take...

I have practically grown up on this river.  Boating, waterskiing, swimming... whatever we want to do with not many rules.  Thankfully my parents bought a place 25 years ago.  I can positively say that it's my favorite destination and my kids get to enjoy it with me and this time my Husband too. (He works many times that we go vacation here)

Here is the sketch to follow...

You have all month to join us.  I hope you do.  There is a very cool prize, Top 3 and GDT to be awarded.
I was also greatly inspired by the colors at Color Throwdown ctd337
Perfect Beachy and River colors!!
And... I am taking a gander at the current Scrap Our Stash challenge 25...
You need to include and item using each letter in the word STAMP.
S - Sequins
T - Twine and Teal colors
A - Alphas
M - Medallion Embellie
P - Pen, Photos, Punched circles
Thanks all for stopping by.  Love it when I get scrapping time in.  :)

FRESCA! - Guest Designer for 1-2-3 Get Scrappy. and Sketch help from Scrap Much

And last but not least... my final post in my string of accomplishments.  :)
I tell ya.. .as much as I hated our internet outage... sure does allow you to say "Oh Well" and do other things.
Back in November,  I was asked to be a Guest Designer for this month
at 1-2-3 Get Scrappy!!
Yay me!
I love that all the different blogs have their own challenge themes... and this is a fun one!!
They always use a "Tic-Tac Board" where you pick 3 things in any direction and use them on a layout.
Here is my layout...

Oh our little Fresca.  We decided to acquire this gem of a kitten last April to give our older cat Roxy a friend and well "Just Because."  She was supposed to de-stress me a little.  Well, I think it has been the opposite.  LOL!  But good thing she is cute.
Go check out the 1-2-3 Get Scrappy blog.  Lots of fun inspiration!
You have until March 2nd to join.
Thank you Ladies for having me!!
123 Get Scrappy Challenge #19
AND... I also took advantage of a great sketch from Scrap Much - Sketchy Friday!!
Another great sketch to follow!
You have until February 28th to join these Ladies.
Thanks once again for stopping by and checking out everything I have had to share.

BAM! - Sketches in Thyme Feb. 1st sketch. + some help from Frosted Designs

And for my 2nd catch up post... I am up over on the Sketches in Thyme Sketch # 139 blog today.
This is my rendition of the February 1st sketch.  Absolutely love these sketches and am so glad when I can design with them.
You have until February 28th to join in on the fun!!

Our son had such a transitioning year in baseball last year.  He had only played one year of T-Ball and then moved up to Rookie league last year and long story short, we figured out that he is a hitter!!  So fun to watch.  His nick name just happens to be "Bam" from Bam Bam and The Flinstones.  When he started hitting the ball basically every single time up to bat... the nick name took on a new meaning.  Anxiously waiting for baseball season to begin this year.

Here is the Sketch designed by Bev Code.

I am also entering this in the current Frosted Designs Friday challenge.
It's all about DIRECTION!
My layout has many arrows and the phrase "Outta Here" indicating that the baseball was hit far and high.  :)
If you need some more ideas on their challenge... here is the exact description taken from the Frosted Designs blog.
Your project needs to have something indicating direction.  You can go literal and use arrows or get wordy and use directional words:  East, West, Up, Down, Over, Under, Left, Right....you get the idea.  You can even get a little creative and use a compass or weather vane....  You can interpret this any way you want, but be sure to explain it in your blog post if it's not really obvious!
Thanks again for coming by!  Much appreciated!!

S-BUX DATE - LMCB # 228 "Sweet as can be"

Happy Tuesday!  I am going to be on a posting roll.  Finished 3 layouts in 3 days.  Woo Hoo.  Was out of internet and phone last week for quite some time and then my car died.  LOL.  So got alot of other "House" stuff done which allowed me some ME TIME!  Yay!!
I'm here to bring you the latest challenge over at Lasting Memories.
LMCB # 228 - "Sweet as can be."
Create a layout with food/beverage that is "Sweet."
You will notice the DT also used it as a play on words.  You can do that too.  :)
Here's mine...

Daughter and I had 3 hours to ourselves one day last year, and our first stop was a "Sweet" stop at Starbucks for her favorite frap drink and my favorite mocha drink.  Yummy!!
You have until February 27th to join us!  Please do!!
I also used a sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches # 99.
Loved this one!
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Stay tuned.  I've got more to share.  :)

ONE day at a time... - Lasting Memories ch # 224

Well Happy End or Start of the week to you all.  It's Sunday which means the next challenge is up over at the Lasting Memories blog.  It also means I got some scrapping in during a very intense and exciting football game with the Seahawks!  They are Superbowl bound again and we can't be more excited.  Taking ONE game at a time.  #GoHawks
LMCB 224
  It's all about "Captured Moments."

Well not only is New Year's Eve a captured moment in itself, but I set the timer on my camera, put it on the counter, thinking we were all posing for the picture... and then I was pleasantly surprised to see my son on the left with his lovely bunny ears above my head.  :)  It's that perfectly imperfect picture that captured the moment of reality.  You have the entire month to join this challenge and the one that started last Sunday.  "Simple Pleasures" and now "Captured Moments."
Come join us!!!

Which leads to my chosen word for the New Year!  A word that we try to live by or basically defines what we are thinking or want to think on a day to day basis.  My chosen word is ONE.  With the photo not entirely perfect, I learned this last year that other things don't always go as planned and perfectionism is just not an attainable idea.  I have never wanted to be perfect... but sometimes we might look like everything is perfect, as we are hiding behind a forced smile and it's not.  We all are dealing with something that causes hurt, anxiousness or worry.
I am vowing to take ONE year, ONE month, ONE week, ONE day at a time.
Everything happens for a reason and to worry too much about the future is pretty much a waste of time in the present.  Gotta enjoy the moment now.

The challenge at CHALENGE YOUrself # 14 for this month helped me to start and complete my layout.  You are to include a photo of yourself and scrap about your one little WORD for the new year.
My word is ONE.
Grab Our Button!

I also used the sketch at SKETCHABILITIES # 130.  Great sketch!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I "Challenge" you to scrap about a captured moment, your one little word for 2015 or this great sketch above.
See you all soon!!  :)

Lasting Memories First 2015 Challenge with a Blog Hop!! "Life's Simple Pleasures"

Hello and welcome to our very first challenge for 2015 at Lasting Memories! We're celebrating the new year and new Design Team with a blog hop. Super fun right?! If you're just starting the hop, be sure to start at Lasting Memories so you don't miss anyone - if you're last stop was Kimberly then you're on the right track!

Our challenge theme this entire month is "Life's Moments" and our first challenge is "Life's Simple Pleasures" .. we want to know what one of your simple pleasure's in life is. Chocolate? Coffee? Adorable children, pets or grandchildren?? SO many things to consider and we're excited to see what you create! What's my Simple Pleasure??? Here, let me show you!

This is from a trip that our family took over a long weekend last February with the rest of our very large family.  26 people in all.  So the little blip of time that my Hubby and I got to spend outside both during and after a big Snow Storm that had hit, was caught on camera.  :)  Love it when that happens.  We don't see snow super often where we live, so seeing it in these huge amounts last winter was quite fun.  It's the simple pleasures that make me happy.

Your next stop is our beloved Blog Owner, Karen!!!... and when you're all done visiting the new Design Team, we really hope you'll have time to join the fun! All our challenges run for the entire month, so you have time to play! Thanks for stopping by today!

Line Up
