Busy life means digital layouts...

Thought I'd reach out to my long time blogger friends and share that I fell off the paper scrapping wagon and tried this morning digital layouts through the Project Life App.  

So these 3 took me about 30 minutes, on my phone in the comfort of my Sunday bed when I couldn't sleep.  I seriously feel like I'm cheating.  For those that don't know about the App... well I'm glad I shared.  I just did 3 and it costs $1.99 each to have prined and I will receive them in the mail in about a week.  Not a bad gig.  

I am working full time again, have busy kids... so my weekends are for catching up on life to do's along with throwing in fun times with our family.  I am also starting to take care of myself a little better.  Exercise when the opportunity presents itself.  

I am not giving up paper scrapping.  This was my kick me in the behind to get back at it.  

If anything it's nice to have options and just maybe I will help any of you that may find yourself in a rut.  I fully believe in inspiring anyone I can.  

My word or motto for 2018... "Right now."

Stop talking about things and just do them.

Happy Easter!  In honor of the day... my kids who are WAY older than this photo... actually colored eggs yesterday.  So glad they still want to be "Kids."  This is from 7 years ago and I can't believe how the time has flown.  Life if good and cherish these YOUNG moments!!

GOLF...

Another summer family adventure under our belt... which means another layout added to our memories.  :)   Well here we go with Sunday and the start of a new challenge over at Lasting Memories.   In sticking with the monthly theme of "Adult Coloring Trend..."  This week's challenge has you actually doing a little bit of coloring on your layouts. LM#306 - Add an image that you  have colored or color your background paper. Here's mine...

I chose to color a digital image of the golf bag with the green in the background.  I used my Stampin' Up colored pencils and then used SU blender pens to make it look a bit smoother.  

This was our first time golfing 9 holes as a family.  Although daughter just drove the cart and drove her brother nutso.  First time for me attempting 9 holes and actually hitting a ball somewhere other than a driving range.  The boys in my life said I did ok.  :)  I'll take it.  

I had a few challenges that also inspired me to scrap this layout...

Here is my layout...

I used the bright colors and circles represented from the marbles as my inspiration.

Summer has started in our house.  We are still busy with some upcoming baseball tournaments, but was able to get out for an adventure recently to check out great nature practically in our back yard.  Love the outdoors, and anything to rack up those steps on my Fitbit is a for sure plus!!

We Love Grammy...

Yay!!  I've gotten out of my slump.  I scrapped!  And let me tell you how good it feels.  I was inspired to create this layout as a gift for my Mom for Mother's Day.  I will be duplicating this for my stash... since it captures perfectly where our kids are at these days with their number one focus of fun besides their school grades, other activities etc...  Life is good and busy and perfect.  So with that said... the newest challenge at Lasting Memories is all about Vintage! LM 292 - Vintage, Sepia, Black and White, Old or New photos
Here is what I did... Used current photos and turned them Black and White...

Whether you have actual OLD photos, Black and White photos, Sepia Photos or Current Photos that you want to scrap...  Well this is the challenge for you.  Anything to do with Vintage.  Photos, Paper... whatever.   I was also inspired by the sketch from SKETCH n' SCRAP... Flashback Friday challenge... You have until May 31st to join on the above challenge with the sketch.

Life is an Adventure...

Well yes it is!!  Have been busy on the home front lately... so I rewarded myself by getting to my scrap desk today.  :)  It's also very rainy here... and I am missing the sunshine, the warmth and simply hanging with my family.  So I am reliving one of our favorite adventures... HIKING.
Here is a layout that I did about our hike to Cherry Creek Falls this past August.  It was muggy hot.  Not a very well marked trail... but once we found the prize at the end, we were happy.  Love finding and seeing things after a bout of exercise.  Advantages all around.

Back to School...

Back to school has happened in our household and is happening in full force.  The kids don't have too much homework yet, but gosh... can I fill out any more paperwork and forms?  I sure hope not.  I appreciate the strong communication.  I'm just coming to terms that Summer has indeed concluded.
So with that said... it was my reveal day today for the 2nd week sketch at Sketches in Thyme.  I'm a tad late, for it's almost midnight where I live.  
It was perfect for my kid's back to school / first day pics.

Pool Time...

Happy Sunday.  Yes it's me again... twice this week.  I am amazing myself.  :)  It also helps that we have had thunderstorms here for 2 days, we've vacationed a ton and YES... Football has begun!   I love watching all the ins and outs of the game... even during this Pre-season stuff... but better yet, my Husband is engrossed with the TV and his (still figuring out) Fantasy Football team... that my Scrapping time just might get to increase.   It's the start of a new challenge over Lasting Memories.   Our overall August theme is "Sky High"... So this week we want to see you add a Starburst or Sunburst to your layouts. LM 255 Add a Starburst or Sunburst to your layout.

Keep Calm and Hang On...

Well I am going to remain calm for the fact that I finally got to my craft room!  Where did the last few months go?  And in looking at this layout I did... where did the last 3 years go?  I swear I just printed these pictures last week.  Ugh!! With that said... I am showcasing the newest sketch over at Sketches in Thyme! This was perfect for my Before and After photos of a family photo op almost gone bad.  The stairs collapsed with all of us on them as the camera auto clicked at just the right time.  Too funny... but as you can see from some of our facial expressions, we all were not laughing.

Norah Jones Concert...

Happy Monday everyone!!  Today is my REVEAL day over at Sketches in Thyme.  I was honored to have been invited to stay on the Design Team as a Senior Maven.  :)  Great new things are happening over there.  We now have 4 sketch challenges during the month and a different design team for each.  LOTS of scrappy inspiration to see and get your MOJO going. You need to use paper or embellishments that you have had in your stash for a long time.  Or scrap about something from a while ago.

Well... the kit I used is an OLD "Me and My Big Ideas - Girls Night Out" kit.  It was given to me in 2010 as part of a Christmas gift.  My photos are also from a concert in 2012.  Not that long ago... but not by any means close to the current year.  The colored candied dots are the only semi new thing on the layout.

On the River...

Hello!  Long time no scrap!!  Then when I get on a roll... I get on a roll.  And it's usually when I can't sleep.  That was me last night.  :)  Anyone else have this problem?   Well I am here to show you the latest challenge at Lasting Memories this week. It's a Sketch challenge along with "Scrap your favorite destination." LM236 Here is my take...

I have practically grown up on this river.  Boating, waterskiing, swimming... whatever we want to do with not many rules.  Thankfully my parents bought a place 25 years ago.  I can positively say that it's my favorite destination and my kids get to enjoy it with me and this time my Husband too. (He works many times that we go vacation here)
