LMCB 98 - Black and White with a splash of color!!

Good Sunday Morning.  It's time for the next FUN challenge over at
 LASTING MEMORIES Layout challenges.

This week we want to see BLACK and WHITE with a SPLASH of color.
This can be a Black and White photo/photos... or use color photos and use mostly Black and White paper and decor.  How ever you interpret it, the idea is Black and White with a little pizzaz added.  :-)

Here is what I did...

Our son is turning 6 this month... and I remembered I had this fantastic photo of him from his very FIRST birthday eating his cake that a very dear friend snapped of him.  If you notice... the photo is Black and White, but then his eyes are colored in blue.  That is his real eye color.  So sticking with the BLUE... I added some more blue patterned paper along with some green.  I have to admit, this is a challenge!!  I had a hard time sticking with just one color.  I stated in my journaling that "Your big bue eyes hold so many "Firsts" to come."  Indeed he has explored life to his fullest thus far!!

Thanks so much for visiting!!  You have until Saturday, July 28th at 9pm EST to link up HERE.
Can't wait to see what you come up with!!

DDC #20 - 12 x 12 "Tubin Fun" Layout

Good Morning!!  Today is the next fun challenge over at Digi Darla's Challenges
The theme is "Animal Crackers"
Lets see some animals on those projects this week!!!

And here is my creation... using "Hippo in Tube" from Floppy Latte Designs.
We all had an opportunity to go spend a few days with my parent's last weekend at their summer place... my growing up summer place... in the 100 degrees plus temps!  This is my Hubby and kiddos tubin'!!  The kids are finally getting a little more brave.  They want to go faster and even got outside the wake of the boat.  Progress!!  I had fun using this HIPPO image.  It was perfect for these photos!!

Floppy Latte Designs is offering a $10.00 USD Gift Voucher to their store to the winner.

I also followed an AWESOME sketch from CREATIVE SCRAPPERS # 216

I varied from the sketch slightly... since I had 4 photos to showcase instead of 3.  But it's the basic idea.  :-)  Hope you enjoy!!  Most of my paper is from Stampin Up and Little Yellow Bicycle "Splash" collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Go on over to Digi Darla's and check out what the rest of the DT created.  Very fun inspiration for you!!!

LMCB #97 - 12 x 12 American Girl Doll layout

Good Evening... Good Morning... depending on where you are in the world!!  :-)  It's time for the next fun challenge over at Lasting Memories!!  This week we are "Digging for GOLD."  We want to see gold paper, brads, eyelets, paint, glitter.. anything that you have that is GOLD that you can put on your layout... we want to see it!!

Here is what I have to share with you...

This is this last Fall... we took our daughter to the "Amercian Girl Doll" Store for the very first time.  The store had just opened up the prior summer just 30 minutes from our house and we hadn't been to visit yet.  So off we went with DOLL "Bella" in tow to find some fun things!!
I used GOLD brads and GOLD stars as my GOLD additions.  Otherwise most of the layout is done with Doodlebug Design "Sweet Cakes" paper pack and some Stampin' Up Cardstock.  I also used the "American Girl" title cut from the actual shopping bag from the trip.  Some ink pens to doodle, some ribbon and VOILA!

I am also entering my layout over at Artful Delight ASC #21 July Sketch Challenge.  Thank you Leeanne for this great sketch!!!

And...I couldn't pass up the chance to enter over at Scrap it with a Song where their song choice for their challeng is Tom Petty's "American Girl."  PERFECT!!  And my my Husband will be happy since this is in his TOP 5 for all time song favorites!!

Come join us over at Lasting Memories by this Saturday 7/21 at 9pm EST and be "Featured" or a part of our TOP 3 for the week.  Ohhh... and bonus... Karen only needs 5 more followers to reach her goal of 300.  Become a follower and you will be put in the hat for a chance at a fun Surprise Goodie bag!!  Can't beat that!!

Just for joining us, using a DIGI DARLA image, you will have a chance to win ALL of the June's New Release images!!! OMGosh!!

So, let's get this party started, shall we?? If you've arrived here from VANESSA then you are on the right track!! If you're just arriving, please be sure to start at the very beginning, Denise's blog, so you don't miss one thing!! Our challenge this week is to follow this card sketch, designed by our very own - Karen!!! Easy peezy!!

And here's my creation using Digi Darla's BEACH TIME.

As you can see, I made the sketch into a square card. This is a CONGRATS card for a dear friend/co-worker that has finally retired from a position that I almost had the pleasure of taking over.  But then I made the glorious decision to "Step Down" from that possibility 4 years ago to be a MOM (and everything else).  I joke with my friend that I "Retired" before she did.  :-)  Needless to say... I'm happy that she finally did it.
I also added to the inside of the card... not something I normally do.

I am also entering my card over at the newest challenge over at Stampin' Celebration #56 where the challenge is to use this photo as inspiration.
The beach theme, blues, oranges, water, beach chair clearly inspired me!!

Now before you leave, be sure to leave me a comment for a chance to
win the fabulous image of BEACH TIME that I used on my card!!
Don't forget to join our challenge this week for a chance to win the entire June Release-you need to use a Digi Darla image!!!

LMCB # 95 - Use Red/White or Red/White/Blue

Good morning everyone!  First off, I'd like to take a minute and send out good wishes to all that are dealing with the nasty storms through the U.S.  Here is hoping you are safe and well!!

Is it really July 1st??  Gosh... well... in honor of that... we have the newest challenge for you
We are recognizing the celebrations of CANADA DAY and 4TH OF JULY!!

Show us your layouts with either RED and WHITE colors only.
OR
RED, WHITE and BLUE colors only.

Here's mine...
Slight tilt in my photo.  I literally ran outside on our deck for 30 seconds to take this photo before the MONSOON hit.  It's Muggy and Rainy here.  But it's ok. I am thankful that is all it is.
This was 4 years ago... my kiddies look so young.  This was a small little 4th of July celebration at our house with just us and our neighbors outside.  We made the best of it!  Now with a change in Hubby's work schedule, we are able to venture out and hopefully spend more time with family and see the BIG fireworks.

Right Page

My entire layout is made using Stampin' Up Products.
